An AI Data Scientist by your side, Part 1: Metabase

At MinusX, our vision is to build an AI data scientist that works with the tools you already use. In this article, I want to share a glimpse into how it's like working with an AI agent by your side in Metabase. Whether it be finding answers to complex questions or iterating on your analysis faster.

Setup

Step 1: If you haven't already, install the MinusX browser extension.

Step 2: Open your preferred metabase instance or try MinusX in our playground. (The login details are in the playground link!). You should see a MinusX panel on the right side of the screen asking for your email to login.

Once you complete the login process, you'll need to navigate to either a SQL query or a dashboard page on Metabase to start using MinusX

Questions & Insights

Often, you just want answers to business questions. Since MinusX is integrated into your tools, it already knows about your prior queries and dashboards & uses that to answer your questions:

That was fast! But the art of effective data science is to leverage visualisations to gain insight into your data. MinusX can help you iterate on that too:

Analyse this!

A blank slate is fine for demos but if you're like me, you don't just start with an empty query. You'll regularly be faced with complex queries at work. MinusX can help explain these queries as well.

Ultimately, the conclusions we draw from data are critical. Since MinusX allows you to drag and select a portion of the tool, let's use that to ask some questions.
