How Cashboard uses Embedded MinusX to Delight Customers

Cashboard is an AI native FP&A platform that helps CFOs track, manage and forecast their financial performance with ease. They use Embedded Metabase in their platform to provide their users with powerful dashboards and reports. With Embedded MinusX, they have taken their user experience to the next level by enabling natural language interactions with their dashboards.

Use Case 1: Not just for Users!

Cashboard does the incredibly hard work of integrating with various data sources, cleaning and transforming customer data, and creating meaningful views for finance leaders and their teams. This involves a lot of complex SQL queries and data modeling. With Embedded MinusX, Cashboard's own team can blaze through the setup process, greatly reducing the time to value for their customers.

Use Case 2: CFOs can do 5 hours of work in 30 seconds!

Cashboard users are domain experts in finance, not necessarily in SQL. They need to be able to ask questions about their financial data in natural language, and get answers quickly. With Embedded MinusX, they can do just that. They can ask questions like "What is our cash flow for the last quarter?" or "Show me a breakdown of expenses by category" and get instant answers, references to the underlying data (or underlying cards) and even visualizations. When necessary, MinusX writes complex SQL queries to fetch and analyze data.

But the thing Cashboard users love most is MinusX's ability to write GUI queries and set them up in the Metabase UI. This means that users can get the answers they need, and have full visibility into the analysis process.

Future Plans

We're working closely with the Cashboard team to explore new features and capabilities that can further enhance their user experience. We've already shipped features like @mentions to reference tables and models, MBQL support in dashboards etc. and have many more in the works!
